International agreements

Saint-Gobain Containers Inc. (Paris, France) and Robert Mondavi (Oakville, CA) reached a strategic alliance on a new seven-year wine bottle contract.

—Tetra Laval SA (Bakel, The Netherlands) made a public offer for Sidel (Paris, France).

—Xaar (Cambridge, England) signed an ink partnership agreement with SunJet (Midsomer Norton, U.K.).

—Pechiney Plastic Packaging (Paris, France) and MacDermid Graphic Arts (Waterbury, CT) made a five-year agreement whereby MacDermid will supply Pechiney with digital and conventional printing plate systems and materials.

—Erhardt + Leimer, Inc. (Spartanburg, SC) signed an agreement with Soter (Italy) for exclusive rights to market and sell Soter’s thickness measuring equipment in North America.

—Sencorp Systems (Hyannis, MA) signed a North American license agreement to mfg. and distribute deep-draw, heavy-gage, cut-sheet, in-line thermoforming machines designed by Rigo Group (Milan, Italy).

—Imaje (Kennesaw, GA) signed a distribution agreement with Rofin-Sinar UK Ltd. (Hamburg, Germany).

—Smurfit-Stone Container Canada Inc. (Chicago, IL) completed the sale of the co.’s Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada, sawmill to UPM-Kymmene Miramichi Inc. (Helsinki, Finland).
