At PACK EXPO, 3M shared news of its new Scotch® High Tack Box Sealing Tape 371+, said to have been developed for markets such as e-commerce/e-fulfillment, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and others that are increasingly using corrugated cases with high recycled-content fiber. According to the Ryan Bjorklund, Marketing Manager, Packaging, 3M Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, the company enlisted some of the adhesive technologies used for other 3M divisions to determine what adhesive would stick longer and better on recycled material.

Among the benefits of the tape, it adheres to a variety of surfaces, including corrugated boxes with 100% recycled content; once applied, it performs well at temperatures as low as 30°F; it is tamper-evident, clear, and can be custom printed; it can be quickly and easily applied by hand using manual dispensers or with 3M-Matic™ case sealers; and it is available in 48- and 72-mm widths.
