The battery-assisted passive tag uses security technology that authenticates and encrypts data communications on the tag itself. This item-level solution provides tamper-proof data storage on the tag and ensures privacy by allowing only authorized readers to access sensitive information. The Gen2 tag also includes a temperature sensor that allows pharmaceutical manufacturers and other cold-chain distributors to track and monitor product temperature history.
