DuPont Packaging: Container resins

Two new PET resins have been developed by DuPont (Wilmington, DE). Laser+®E is a polymer for extrusion blow molding containers for food packaging.

Its high intrinsic viscosity is good for making special shapes. Said to have good flow and melt strength properties. Laser+®H is a homopolymer designed for high-temperature food trays and other applications where CPET is used.

Trivium Packaging’s Pacific Round bottle has a formed threaded neck and a tamper-evident closure, and it was designed in-house for the beverage market. The photochromic ink is printed as a single ink unit during decoration and responds mainly to UV-A radiation, so it shows little or no color change indoors.
