The HP Indigo Pack Ready Lamination system creates high-quality, high-performance laminations for HP Indigo digitally printed flexible packaging without the use of adhesives. It’s designed for flexible packaging printed on HP Indigo digital presses for flexible film: the 20000, the 8000, and the WS6800. It provides a strong lamination bond strength with zero curing time for immediate pouch converting, opening new opportunities for digitally printed flexible packaging.

“Pack Ready is the next step in the HP digital disruption of printing for flexible packaging, the fastest-growing packaging sector,” says Alon Bar-Shany, HP Indigo General Manager. The complete solution includes the Pack Ready Laminator, manufactured and supplied by Karlville, and Pack Ready Film. The film contains a heat-activated polymer layer that mechanically interlocks with HP’s Indigo ElectroInk once sufficient heat and pressure are applied, allowing immediate use. The film can comply with key global food packaging safety regulations under well-defined conditions of use. Pack Ready food-contact-grade films are now available from leading global film suppliers, including Polyplex and Polifilm.

Customer beta testing of the laminator is scheduled for this summer, and first units are to ship by end of year, says HP.
