Bringing a storied 25-year career that encompasses automation and controls, robotics, entrepreneurship, and lecturing in business and engineering courses, Shawn Lange has joined Beckhoff USA as Northwest Regional Director. Lange takes on this role to continue the momentum of the previous regional sales leader, Hank Lee, in new business acquisition across high-tech industries such as e-commerce, consumer electronics, semiconductor, EVs, and life sciences. Lee was promoted to a new role at Beckhoff USA and will serve as Consumer Electronics Industry Manager. Lange reports to Jake Schieffer, Vice President of Sales while Lee now reports to Kevin Barker, President of Beckhoff USA.
A territory that stretches from Northern California to Washington State, Beckhoff USA’s Northwest Region encompasses vital tech hubs that have reshaped our world with transformative technologies across IT, web, e-commerce, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, semiconductors, and more. “An ideal leader for this region, Shawn has a deep-rooted passion for automation which is backed by more than two decades of industry experience,” Schieffer says. “Simply put, I’m thrilled to have Shawn on our team! He checks all the boxes for what we look for in a regional director: he acts as a servant leader, sets clear strategy, and is customer-centric with a deep understanding of automation technology.”
Lange has for many years served as an advisor and lecturer in business and academia. He is currently an adjunct lecturer at Santa Clara University. Lange has worked in numerous industries and positions over his career, most recently as Division President of The Middleby Corporation, a leader in commercial/residential kitchen technology and industrial food processing. Shawn joined Middleby when they acquired the company he founded and led, Lab2Fab in 2017 to develop new automated solutions for the restaurant industry. Prior to the acquisition, Lab2Fab® was an engineering firm that helped companies scale laboratory and R&D work into full scale fabrication. Lange also held numerous management, sales, marketing, and engineering positions at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Western Technology (now Valin), and Electroglas.
"After selling Lab2Fab to Middleby, I did some introspection and arrived at my ‘why’,” says Lange. “My why is creating new opportunities for people through technology and innovation. At Beckhoff, I can fully return to this focus to best serve our customers and provide engaging work, enriching educational experiences, and continuous personal growth for the Beckhoff USA Northwest Team.”
Lange has earned a wide range of degrees, including a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics, Mechatronics, and Control Systems) from Santa Clara University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. He also completed an entrepreneurship program through Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.
