The major benefits of the digital printing system—represented in the U.S. by Griffin-Rutgers--are flexibility and ease of use. The modular systems can be integrated as easily into existing lines as into new lines. The technology is aimed initially at the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and beverage industries as well as at packaging firms and suppliers of packaging lines. The Linoprint system, which consists of printing unit and control software, processes variable data. Different language versions or production-related data such as sell-by dates, serial and batch numbers, bar codes or data matrix codes can be imprinted on line, just in time, and in top-quality. Print resolution to 720 dpi.
