DuPont Packaging: High-performance ionomer

For use in blown and cast film applications, Surlyn® 2601 by DuPont (Wilmington, DE) is a high-performance version of ionomer workhorse grade Surlyn 1601.

Compared to the previous grade, Surlyn 2601 offers a lower heat-seal initiation temperature, higher hot tack, greater melt strength, and higher stiffness and gloss. Can be used as a sealant for meat and other food packaging, a monolayer film for vacuum skin packaging, or as a component in medical forming webs.
