Cooking up hot graphics

"It really screams barbecue." That's how Tony Arancio, product buyer at Lechters, Inc., describes the new Cooks Club BBQ line, sold nationally through the Harrison, NJ-based Lechters chain.

Packaging for the 22 barbecue tools and accessories is actually minimal, consisting of hanging blister cards, folding cartons and paperboard inserts. Smith Design (Glen Ridge, NJ) crafted the new look, which places less emphasis on the logo and more on red and black graphics and images of food being barbecued. "It looks like it's actually cooking there," says Arancio. The line was introduced in April of this year. "It's gone very well," says Arancio. "We're happy with the product and the packaging."
