Vf/f/s system

Eliminating forming tubes and sealing jaws, Wright Machinery (Uxbridge, England) employs a carousel to carry formed bags through separate filling and sealing stations on its Pacwright 200 vf/f/s system.

Operating at speeds to 200 bags/min, the machine makes each bag by shaping film into a tube, sealing the bottom, then flattening and cutting the tube at the specified bag length. Each bag is opened via vacuum and placed in the carousel to index to the multihead weigher for filling. Preliminary and final sealing is done with heated rollers, which require less dwell time than reciprocating jaws.
