Amcor Flexibles: Recyclable deli pack offers kraft-paper look

Amcor’s recyclable Packpyrus is a thermoformable cellulose-based packaging solution that provides oxygen-barrier protection for pre-sliced products like meat or cheese.

Packpyrus is available in 3 versions: Packpyrus Flexible for vacuum pack base webs; as well as Packpyrus Semi-Rigid and Packpyrus Rigid for modified atmosphere base webs.

The Packpyrus Flexible and Packpyrus Rigid solutions offer significant improvement in lifecycle performance. Thanks to their lightness, use of renewable fibers and optimized manufacturing processes they offer a reduction in the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of about 70% and 60%, respectively.

Packpyrus’ ‘Kraft paper’ natural look and feel brings enhanced product differentiation on shelf.

A favorable technical assessment for two of the Amcor Packpyrus formats by the CEREC (French Committee for the Evaluation of Recyclability of Paper and Cardboard Packaging) means that packaging made from these materials is allowed to feature the ‘Info Tri Point Vert’ (Waste sorting Green Dot) pictogram, which was created by Eco Emballages to help encourage consumers to correctly sort their household waste for recycling.

Additionally, Packpyrus is manufactured in a plant with ISO 14001 certification, and the company is a member of SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) and AIM-PROGRESS (Programme for Responsible Sourcing).
