Introduced in July, the LCR-P10 radio’s blister pack provides point-of-sale differentiation, environmental advantages, and transparency. According to Cargill Dow, the pack received the Packaging Technology Award of the Japan Packaging Institute. Sony first used NatureWorks PLA as a film wrap for mini discs in 2001. Recently, Sony expanded its use of the polylactic acid material in packaging used for a pocket cassette player and radio.
