ProFood World is the sixth brand in the company’s portfolio of business-to-business titles, which includes flagship brand Packaging World. ProFood World will be headed up by Publisher Patrick Young, who recently joined PMMI Media Group. Young was previously Publisher of BNP Media’s Food Engineering Network, which includes Food Engineering, Food Master, Refrigerated & Frozen Foods, related websites, and Food Engineering’s Food Automation & Manufacturing Conference.
Under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Joyce Fassl, ProFood World will cover the global food and beverage processing industry, which encompasses distinct markets such as meat, poultry, and seafood; beverages; dairy and dairy products; refrigerated and frozen foods; snack foods and other processed foods. Fassl has covered the food and beverage processing industry for over 20 years, most recently as Editor-in-Chief of Food Engineering, where she was also program director for Food Engineering’s Food Automation & Manufacturing Conference. Fassl’s signature e-newsletter from ProFood World – “Joyce’s Voice” – kicked off the brand launch this week, with a mailing to 25,000 professionals in the food and beverage processing industry.
ProFood World will be written for processing, packaging, engineering, operations, supply chain / logistics professionals and executives. The ProFood World website, e-newsletters, and print products, including the ProFood Tech Showcase, will feature news, trends, products and technologies in food safety, automation, processing, packaging, material handling, and sustainability, among other topics. ProFood World will also function as the go-to media supporting PMMI’s new food and beverage processing trade show, ProFood Tech (April 4-6, 2017, Chicago). ProFood Tech is powered by tradeshow leaders PACK EXPO, Anuga, and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA).
