We occasionally bring you amusing, slightly left-of-center developments that touch on packaging. The Hydro Sport wrist water bottle is one of those.
Calling this a sporty bottle would be too obvious, so instead we'll refer to it as an "a-wristing" packaging development.
According to the Hydro Sports USA Web site, "Each cleverly designed Hydro Sport holds 5.5 ounces of water or sports drink. It is strapped onto the wrist and has a pull top. It eliminates the need to carry water bottles, which can be cumbersome to carry and break your stride when you have to stop to take a drink. You just fill them up with cold water and go!! Both Hydro Sports supply you with the necessary 11 ounces of liquid to complete your workout without the risk of dehydration. Hydro Sport is patented and has a suggested retail price of $9.99 a set."
The Web page touts the "As seen on TV" tagline, but I hadn't seen it.
The company claims that using cold water helps keep your body temperature cool.
Plus the bottles double as 1/2-lb wrist weights when full. I like the fact the weight lessens as you drink during your routine, which is the exact opposite of traditional weights that defy physics by seeming to get the heavier the longer you workout.
The bottles are available in five colors of neon green, pearl, purple, pink, and blue to match your workout attire.
Only blue matches my usual outfit.
