Canned Coffee from Starbucks

Nestlé and Starbucks have unveiled Starbucks® Fresh Brew, a range of pre-portioned coffee in an airtight can that locks in the peak flavor of ground coffee for fresh taste every time.

Holding 1.3 oz of ground coffee, the new can from Starbucks features an aluminum ring-pull top on a steel body and bottom.

Specific details are scarce, but apparently a custom-designed packaging line was designed for this application. The coffee is freshly roasted, ground, held and degassed, and then filled with a very low residual oxygen content to ensure fresh-tasting coffee.

Each can holds 1.3 oz of ground coffee, which produces 4-6 cups of coffee. Eight cans are combined in a paperboard carton that sells for about $13.99. The can features a ring-pull aluminum top on a steel body and bottom. A full-wrap polypropylene label on each can includes graphics as well as brewing instructions.
