Hi, I’m Casey Flanagan, Associate Editor with ProFood World. Nestlé says it’s expanding its creamer production in the southwest with a new beverage factory and distribution center in Glendale, Arizona.

The 630,000-sq-ft facility will focus on creamer production for brands like Coffee Mate, Natural Bliss, and even Nestlé’s Global Coffee Alliance partner, Starbucks. That’s all while leaving room for more product offerings ahead.

This marks Nestlé’s 20th U.S. food and beverage factory. The company sees this $675 million investment as an opportunity to grow its manufacturing network and meet heightened consumer demand for at-home coffee customization.

Step inside the facility, and you would find advanced technology and digital tools, helping Nestlé to shift production based on consumer needs, trends, and seasonality.

You would also see several features to support the company’s sustainability goals, like water management tools to recycle and repurpose up to 75% of its treated process wastewater, and creamer bottles that are recyclable and made from food-grade recycled plastic.
