Automation is tip-top at Siptop: Robotics

Two robotic cells may be the main attraction on this Canadian beverage maker’s new line. But home-grown packaging solutions, especially in pouch-filling, are also crucial.

Shown are two of the four robots in the tray-packing cell. Filled trays are metered out of the robotic cell to a machine that folds tray flaps and glues them shut. Subsequently, trays are shrink-bundled, typically in groups of four. Bundles get thermal-transfer-printed labels applied to their tops before moving on towards palletizing.
