PIAB USA Inc: Flow control/check valve for suction cups

Designed to work in any orientation, even upside down, Piab’s new piSAVE Sense flow control/check valve for suction cups optimizes the compressed air usage when there is a variation in the number, weight or size of objects to be lifted--reducing the need to use vacuum pump capacity but maintaining vacuum levels.

The dirt-tolerant piSAVE Sense valve increases vacuum flow through the valve when vacuum levels decrease, and retains high lifting force in the cups that are in contact with products.

Flow control/check valves are used for “object sensing” on flexible vacuum handling devices with a centralized vacuum pump.  The valves allow several suction cups to miss (or partly miss) sheets or objects and still maintain enough vacuum level in the system.  The suction cups also provide fast-release or blow-off.

User benefits include reduced need of vacuum pump capacity, and lowering pump investment and energy consumption.  Users also have the ability to build flexible lifting devices that can serve a variety of size or shape panels and sheets.  This eliminates the need for multiple lifting devices.

Available as an integrated option for Piab’s piGRIP suction cups, the piSAVE sense can also be used as a stand-alone product for any type or brand of suction cup.
