Orangina beverage premium is 'plane'

Wrapped airplane takes off in prize-hungry Japan.

Found at a Daily Yamizaki convenience store in Nagoya, Japan, for ¥147/USD $1.88, the familiar Orangina sparkling beverages from Suntory Holdings Ltd. have an atypical addition: a wrapped Air France model airplane applied over the neck of the 420-mL PET bottle. Six plane models are available in the promotion, including Boeing, Air Bus, and the Concorde, which was retired as an airliner three years after the 2000 crash near Paris. The cross-promotion fits into the brand’s “Born in France, Bottled in Japan” tagline printed on the bottle’s shrink sleeve.

Someone has remarked that it seems that every beverage sold in Japan has a toy attached, and examples such as this provide evidence that is not far from the truth!
