The shaft seal is in the base of the HBG (a high-shear mixing
granulator with under floor drive). The design of the seal and the fact
that it is continuously flushed means that the impeller does not need
to be lifted or moved for cleaning validation. The sealing cartridge,
comprising a double-acting lip seal and wiper, has the same mounting
dimensions as the optional mechanical seal, making it easy to replace.
