Flexy Vacuum Cups celebrates first anniversary, launches new products

Flexy Vacuum Cups, a Singapore-based sales and marketing company specializing in industrial polyurethane vacuum cups from 30 shore A up to 75 shore A, is celebrating its first anniversary.

It has also launched the new “Flexy Gripper” cups and “Flexy Traction” cups.

Klas Öhman, Managing Director of Flexy Vacuum Cups, started the company last year after working 15 years at PIAB, an international vacuum technology company.

Öhman said that by manufacturing his vacuum cups in emerging countries and utilizing a superior "CombiFlex" compound, he could offer a lower price at similar quality than his competitors. Flexy Vacuum Cups uses has a unique process of bonding different hardness together that produces a firm bellow/body in combination with a soft lip. This makes the cups stable and durable with qualitysealing properties.

“The feedback from customers is very good.  We can compete very well on price and quality.  I am now looking for more direct customers in addition to using distributors,” Öhman said.

The new 5 series “Flexy Gripper” offers sizes from Ø 20 mm up to Ø 120 mm, with standard hardness of 40 shore A and 60 shore A.  The 5 series is specially designed to cope with both flat and slightly curved surfaces. It is particularly useful in the automotive and stamping industries. The internal cleats provide a good grip and the strengthened lip prolong the life of the cup considerably.

The new 20 series “Flexy Traction” comes in a size of Ø 80 mm with standard hardness of 30/60 shore A and 60 shore A. The company is also planning to offer for sizes Ø 60 mm and Ø 100 m. The 20 series is specially designed to cope with uneven and porous surfaces, and is suitable for cardboard, and more. 60 shore is also useful in the stamping industry. The cleats under the lip also provide a good grip.

The polyurethane vacuum cups are said to last three to four times longer than cups made of rubber or other vulcanized materials. They offer good wear and tear resilience, flexibility, and high-tensile strength, resulting in less downtime, more turnovers, and increased productivity.
