FDA-accepted aseptic sterilant

The FDA has accepted Clarity™ peracetic acid-based sterilant from FMC Corp., for use in aseptic packaging of low-acid products, such as milk and soy-based products.

Clarity is an easy-to-use, single-component system approved for a range of packaging materials, including HDPE, foil, and PET. Sterilant can be used by aseptic packaging operations to achieve commercial sterility at lower temperatures and chemical usages.
