Hitachi America seeking Sales Manager, Marking & Coding Systems

Hitachi America, Ltd, located in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Sales Manager, Marking & Coding Systems for their Industrial Components & Equipment Division (ICED).

Summary
The Sales Manager, Marking & Coding Systems will be responsible for developing the sales of Hitachi Brand Marking & Coding Systems Products through existing and newly developed distributors to provide optimum coverage, sales promotion and market penetration in the assigned territory. The Sales Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing sales and marketing programs with the goal of enhancing brand recognition and product awareness within each distributor territory. The Sales Manager will direct the day-to-day activity of product, service and sales support functions to ensure distributor and end user satisfaction and will also direct the activities of the Product Specialist and the Service Specialist. He/she will also work with ICED and Japan-side to establish budgets for orders, sales and profit and loss, including short (3 year) and long term (5 year) business plans.

Responsibilities
•    Business Development
″    Increase sales volume with both new and existing Hitachi brand distribution accounts by assisting to establish and implement sales strategies and marketing programs.
″    Identify, recruit and train distributors to provide improved geographic coverage in assigned territory.  
″    Strengthen distributor personnel sales and application skills through continued coaching and formal product and sales training.
″    Actively seek new industrial applications for Inkjet Printer products with distributor personnel and ensure that all sales leads are properly pursued by distributors.
″    Assist distributor personnel with presentations at existing and potential new customer sites.  
″    Develop specifications and proposals as required.  
″    Recommend the addition of new products or features as appropriate.
″    Attend and participate in Sales Meetings, Training Programs and Trade Shows as directed by manager and as needed to achieve sales targets.
″    Be alert to competitive products and marketing practices and include in monthly reports to department management and Japan-side counterparts along with Hitachi activity within the assigned area.
″    Participate in and contribute to programs or activity as assigned by management.
″    Provide leadership and direction for technical and sales support staff.
•    Performance Communication
″    Submit special reports concerning significant competitor activity as well as the acceptance of assigned products in the HAL market area and competitive conditions beneficial to company operations/planning.
″    Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly reports to department management and Japan-side counterparts to provide significant market updates, business conditions, progress toward goals as well as previous month activity and near term action.
″    Maintain log of significant quotations within territory and submit timely won-loss reports targeted at improving future sales success.
•    Forecasting
″    Creates sales forecasts each month for use in business and inventory planning.  
″    Actively participate in the development of sales forecasts with distributors as an aid to sales operations staff in planning forward stocks.
″    Oversee assigned product inventory to ensure maximum inventory turns and minimal obsolete stock.
″    Work with Japan-Side members to appropriately justify market required modifications, the addition of new products or features as appropriate to maximize product salability.


Requirements
•    Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent training and relevant industry experience
•    Ten years of sales experience directly related to Continuous Inkjet applications (CIJ)
•    Strong product management knowledge and skills, distributor management experience is a plus
•    Strong familiarity of Continuous Inkjet Printer applications in the industrial marketplace
•    Proven record of experience and strength in business negotiations with a value added sales approach
•    Strong interpersonal skills
•    Ability to travel a minimum of 60% within the assigned territory and to Japan as needed
•    Strong customer focus
•    Self-motivated, high initiative, self-directed
•    Strong attention to details
•    Achievement oriented
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
•    Fluency in Spanish is a plus
