Hitachi America Ltd. introduces UX Series, the latest generation continuous ink-jet printer.

The new UX Series product line incorporates the same low-pressure, ink return system used in previous Hitachi-series printers that “pulsates” the ink stream, effectively reducing air mixing with ink, minimizing solvent evaporation, and reducing running costs.

The UX uses a new cartridge-type system, making ink replacement clean and simple and eliminating the need to pour fluids. The ink and make-up cartridges can be used right up until the last drop of fluid. The result is less waste and the elimination of costly separate disposal requirements for cartridges.

The UX Series printers are available in two models and can print up to six lines.UX printers incorporate an improved, modern user interface with a full 10.4-in. color touchscreen panel complete with icon-based graphics indicating ink levels and signaling when to replace the cartridges.Ethernet connectivity is standard, enabling printers to be networked easily.

A new ergonomically designed printhead allows for improved printing of gabletop containers. The printer’s cabinet is rated IP65 for harsh environments. It can be washed down, making it suitable for operation in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 50°C.
