Manufacturing company groninger is investing over $14 million in headquarters at its U.S. location in Charlotte, N.C. The expansion will create 60 new jobs.

With this investment in the expansion of its subsidiary in Charlotte, groninger Group, a manufacturer of filling and closing systems for the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare and cosmetics industries, is continuing its growth in North America. In addition to the creation of new jobs, the building will serve as the company’s new U.S. headquarters.

“Our expansion in Charlotte is a clear commitment to our customers in North America. We are not only investing in a new, improved manufacturing and production infrastructure, but also in the future viability of our company in this strategically important region,” said Jens Groninger, CEO of the groninger Group. “The North American market, and the U.S. in particular, has always been among our most important sales markets. They are a key growth driver for groninger.”

Since 1997, the family business has maintained its presence in the U.S.initially in Basking Ridge near New Jersey, and later in Charlotte, where groninger USA LLC opened its current location in 2012.

“Since our U.S. location opened, groninger Group has made investments in the site and steadily expanded capacities. In the meantime, however, we are almost bursting at the seams,” said Philipp Hauser, CEO of groninger USA LLC. “We have recently invested massively in our production in Charlotte and have grown significantly in terms of employees, from around 60 in 2021 to more than 110 today. This trend will continue. By 2030, we plan to create another 60 jobs.”

Additional space is therefore needed, especially as groninger USA has ambitious plans for the future. “We want to further expand our available production capacities so that we can offer our local customers even faster and better service, and eventually evolve from a pure sales and service organization,” said Hauser.

The new building will include office space, an assembly hall and a showroom. With a total area of over 53,000 square feet, including around 34,000 square feet for commercial use alone, the building will offer good working conditions. The existing building, located alongside the new structure, will be converted into a production facility.

A key aspect of the expansion strategy at the U.S. site is the investment in new manufacturing and production facilities for the in-house production of components to further optimize efficiency and the supply chain. “With the further expansion of our production capacities, we will be able to respond even faster to our customers' needs in the future,” said Hauser. "Close collaboration and good cooperation with our colleagues in Crailsheim and Schnelldorf are key to our success. If we continue to invest in our cooperation, we will continue to grow closer togethereven if we are geographically separated by more than 4,000 miles.”
