Summit announces promotion and expansion

Packaging World's lead art director has been promoted and a new graphic artist is joining the expanded staff at Summit Media Group.

Recently promoted to Senior Art Director is Summit's Dave Bacho.
Recently promoted to Senior Art Director is Summit's Dave Bacho.

Dave Bacho goes from Art Director to Senior Art Director and, concurrent with Bacho’s promotion, Morgan Huneck joins the art department. The Chicago B-to-B media company owns Packaging World, Automation World, Healthcare Packaging, Contract Packaging and the GreenerPackage.com brands. Bacho has been guiding the design of Summit's flagship publication, Packaging World, and many other products, for over a dozen years.

A BFA graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Bacho has worked as a designer in publishing for most of his career and joined Summit in 2001. Off hours, during Chicago's shrinking non-snow season, he enjoys biking on trails near his home and following Formula One racing. Bacho's outlook on Summit: "I love the tight-knit atmosphere of working with a group of talented, motivated, and all around nice people. The freedom at Summit really enables people to excel."
Concurrent with Bacho's promotion, Summit welcomes the newest addition to the art department, Morgan Huneck. Huneck recently received her BFA in Graphic Design from Columbia College and will be a Graphic Production Artist at Summit. She joins a department that also includes eMedia Art Director Jen Babiarz and Art Director Filippo Riello.

Comments Packaging World Publisher and Summit Media Group President, Joe Angel: "The job of art director today has become increasingly multi-faceted, requiring an ongoing commitment to learning the latest design programs and then leveraging them to deliver a consistent graphic identity. Those who have worked with Dave appreciate his talent and his grasp of today's sophisticated tools; his expertise in print and digital production; and his work ethic. We wish him many more years of success at Summit. We are also pleased to be expanding our art department with a new generation of designers, and we look forward to contributions from Morgan Huneck.”
