Healthcare Packaging's Forum, set for April 15, 2009 in Philadelphia, offers experts in package design, sustainable packaging, and packaging line efficiency.

Summit Publishing Co.'s  Healthcare Packaging's annual conference on pharmaceutical packaging, Pharmaceutical Packaging Forum, will be held April 15, 2009 at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. This year’s multi-session program will address a wide range of pharmaceutical packaging concerns, as presented by manufacturers and industry experts from around the world.

Pharmaceutical Packaging Forum offers focused education for packaging decision-makers, specifically engineers, validation and regulation specialists, package designers, and security and quality control professionals involved in pharmaceutical packaging.

Topics on the conference agenda include pharmaceutical package design and material innovations; sustainability considerations; OEE (overall equipment effectiveness); Six Sigma and operational excellence; and cold chain distribution for pharmaceuticals and biological products. An international panel of professionals from Europe, India and China will discuss a range of  issues including compliance packaging and anti-counterfeiting strategies; this global perspective is sponsored by Pharmintech 2010 (May 12-14, Bologna, Italy).

Key presentations

Keynoting this year’s Forum will be design guru Peter Clark, CEO and Founder of award-winning design firm Product Ventures Ltd. Clark will share insights about design challenges and opportunities unique to pharmaceutical packaging.  Other presenters include representatives from Procter & Gamble, Hoffman–LaRoche, Inc., GlaxoSmithKline and Wal-Mart. Additionally, packaging line efficiency expert, Paul Zepf of Zarpac, Inc., will present strategies for improving OEE on pharmaceutical packaging lines.
