With all the interest and activity in sustainable packaging these days, we thought to pass along this information for those looking to formalize and enhance their knowledge and expertise through an accredited online program.

The Minneapolis College of Art and Design Sustainable Design Online program offers the opportunity to gain in-depth, actionable knowledge about sustainable design. The courses are relevant to anyone involved in graphic, packaging, and product design, including designers, brand managers, product planners, buyers, and executives. The college offers single workshops to update skills or the courses (18 credits in all) needed to earn the accredited certificate in sustainable design. Courses cover all aspects of sustainable design—theory, tools, and techniques.

The Web site says that earning a certificate in Sustainable Design is ideal for those desiring academic and/or professional credit. The Minnesota Office of Environmental Assistance and the O2 Global Green Design Network endorse the courses and this certificate.

Fall 2008 classes start Aug. 24. A direct link to additional details, including FAQs, can be found by clicking here.
