Award planned for effective use of steel

A steel packaging solution deemed to be most effective in the marketplace will win the Second Edition of the International Steel Packaging Effectiveness Award, sponsored by Apeal, the Assn.

of European Producers of Steel for Packaging. The deadline for entries is December 20, 2004, and the award will be presented April 21, 2005 at the International Steel Packaging Congress in Düsseldorf, Germany, coincident with the interpack show.

Entrants are requested to submit steel packaging that has generated increased sales, market share, profitability, brand awareness and/or consumer attitude shifts. Entries may come from packaging designers, product manufacturers, retailers, packaging manufacturers, or materials suppliers. The international jury will be headed by Lars Wallentin of Nestlé, and will be assisted by multicultural consumer research staged in Brussels, Tokyo, and São Paulo.
