P&G opens P-O-P center

A new pack center operated by Sonoco has opened in Euskirchen, Germany, to pack point-of-purchase displays for Procter & Gamble’s European babycare division.

Located in the same industrial park as the German manufacturing and distribution facilities of P&G’s babycare division, the new center will pack thousands of displays annually, as well as handling other short-notice product repacking tasks as the customer requires.

“We chose Sonoco for this operation because of its long history of excellence as an outsourcing partner, combined with their attractive cost structure,” said Thomas Scheller, supply chain manager for P&G’s babycare products. “We anticipate a close partnership between” the two companies, he added.

Sonoco also operates pack centers for The Gillette Co. in both the United States and in Europe, and for Hewlett-Packard in the U.S. —AO
