Cosmetic container demand to rise

A new study from The Freedonia Group, Cleveland, OH, forecasts cosmetic and toiletry container demand in the United States to increase by 2.4% annually through 2005, to more than 20 billion units, at a value of $3 billion.

“Cosmetic & Toiletry Containers” notes that a steady rate of product introductions, particularly for men, teens, and children, will stimulate container opportunities. Plastic containers will remain dominant and grow at a faster pace than other materials, according to the study. In addition, skin care was cited as a strong growth market. Folding cartons will benefit from growth in hair coloring products. For more information on the $3길, 249-page study, call 440/684-9600, or visit www.freedoniagroup.com
