Consumers who buy dinners in these trays win a 52" color TV. The odds of buying one of these, however, were slim. Both current microwavable trays and the 45 winning versions were packed in a paperboard carton printed with identical "TV screen" graphics, which were similar to those of the original 1954 carton.

To promote the 45th Anniversary of its original TV dinner, Swanson packaged 45 of its TV dinners in the original non-microwavable aluminum tray during a three-month period that ends in May.
