Cognis categorizes their products based on their appeal to corresponding "greenness' of the consumer: Eco-Passion, Eco-Spirit, Eco-Mind, and Eco-Image. Eco-Passion products contain the highest level of natural, renewable products—aimed at uncompromisingly green consumers. Eco-Spirit products appeal to consumers whose green lifestyle is a high priority. Eco-Mind products are designed for consumers who decide how green they want to be on a case-by-case basis. And Eco-Image products are designed for consumers who will consider buying green, but only if they will receive exactly what they want for the right price. The company has designed a Green Formulation Grid that helps their customers (personal and homecare products manufacturers) decide how eco-friendly they can make their products and still provide consumers with the level of performance they seek.
