Rise projected in foodservice disposables

Rising disposable personal income, says The Freedonia Group, will fuel demand in the U.S. for foodservice disposables 4.3% per year through 2007, to $14.2 billion.

Lids and wraps, as well as serviceware, will show strong sales growth as consumers continue to show a willingness to pay for convenient, ready-to-eat foods. Full-service restaurants and snack/bakery/coffee segments are projected to gain share from quick-service restaurants. These findings are reported in Foodservice Disposables, a 217-page report available from Freedonia for $3꽤. Contact Corinne Gangloff at 440/684-9600, or visit
