Warnings for antidepressants

FDA is urging manufacturers of 10 popular antidepressant drugs, including Paxil, Zoloft, and Luvox, to put a warning label on the drugs alerting consumers and their physicians to watch for suicidal tendencies, hostility, and agitation after consumers take the drugs.

Meanwhile, outside researchers are conducting a comprehensive analysis of the possible risks posed by antidepressants. The warnings will be aimed at adults as well as children and apply to those taking the drugs for depression or for unrelated problems.
