Bomba drink, bomb-like bottle

Bomba Energy drinks hit the United States in a grenade-shaped 8.4-oz glass bottle topped with a steel cap and ring closure. When the ring is pulled, the cap lifts open. The exclusive importer, Energy Beverage Company of Long Island City, NY, launched the Bomba Energia Getränkevertriebs GmbH product in this country in May.

Energy Beverage declined to respond to Packworld.com questions regarding details on materials specifications and declined to identify its European packaging suppliers.

According to the company, Bomba Energy will also be available in a new 11.2-oz polyethylene terephthalate bottle in September. Available in four flavors, Bomba Energy retails for $1.99 at convenience stores and for $4.00 to $6.00 for on-premise sales at clubs and bars. Shelf life is 18 months.
