Member companies of American and Canadian paper and box associations are expected to take part in the voluntary program. It's designed to reduce the number of recyclable non-waxed boxes that currently end up in landfills. Identification of waxed boxes was requested by the grocery industry, which is the source of one-third of all recovered boxes.
