According to a late 2017 FDA report, approximately 30% of Puerto Rico’s manufacturing employees are employed by manufacturers of medical products, which include drugs, biologics and devices. Many on the island are still reeling from hurricane devastation, and as companies return to production and packaging operations, they often need equipment on expedited timelines.

Omega Design Corpcreated its IMPACT Series as a way to simplify packaging equipment purchases and shorten lead times for certain bottle unscramblers, desiccant feeders and shrinkbundlers. AbbVie Inc. selected an LCX1 Unscrambler from the IMPACT Series (pictured) when it needed packaging operations up and running fast in Puerto Rico. “The longest part of the project was the machine’s ride on the boat,” said Omega’s Chris Siegele.
