PPi Technologies launches innovative pouch equipment

PPi Technologies showcased a couple of innovative pouch making equipment machines at their Pack Expo booth.

The first was the PSG ABT (see video), which is used for the BarrelPaQ line. The BarrelPaQ line is a large standup pouch, mostly for liquid, which has a closure near the bottom of the pouch for liquid dispensing. The PSG ABT uses a unique process to remove part of the closure, fill product through the closure opening, and then re-insert the closure in place. The PSG ABT is available in both 2 lane a 4 lane options.

PPi Technologies also launched the Mini PMP pouch filler at the show as well. This small, completely integrated sealer includes a vacuum system and integrated cooler. The Mini PMP requires no tools to modify change bag size as the feed system is very simple as it uses guides and a magazine feed system very similar to a household inkjet printer. The Mini PMP uses 20 servos to achieve precise control of the feeding, filling, and sealing process.

It can handle premade bags with a width of 4"– 9.5" and can fill up to 5 lbs. of product. The Mini PMP can run approximately 18 bags/minute and is also completely washdown safe and can handle liquid or dry product. The equipment seems ideal for brand owners and copackers looking to produce pouches for consumer testing, sales samples, or small production runs with maximum flexibility and extremely quick changeover, in a very small footprint.
