Available in multiple grades, Graphic Packaging International’s Fibrecote R is engineered to meet a variety of frozen food applications in the retail environment. The material is recommended for all form/fill/seal applications, including high-speed, and is said to offer superior performance and sealing capabilities over other commercially available options.

FDA-compliant for direct food contact, multilayered Fibrecote R is constructed of natural kraft paper with a proprietary polyolefin-based, co-extruded coating to provide freezer protection and grease resistance.

Fibrecote R is made from over 85% renewable fiber, is PFAS-free, enables a reduction of 55% to 75% compared to 1-mil film, and is OCC-equivalent recyclable, verified by testing at Western Michigan University. As for its performance, the packaging is available with multicolored, registered printing, provides a moisture barrier, is FDA-compliant, and can be used for f/f/s applications as well as form and fill and bag-in-box formats.

Fibrecote R allows for a natural look and branding and is easy to open and close, with no special notching required. Graphic Packaging adds that Fibrecote R is easier to recycle than plastic packaging, with higher recycling and recovery rates.
