Crown Holdings: New finishes heighten impact

Four new print finishes from the aerosol packaging affiliates of Crown Holdings offer marketers new visual tools to build brand appeal and gain an edge at point-of-sale.

Patterned Varnish creates “movement” as consumers walk by the package. The varnish plays on metal’s inherently reflective properties to create a 3-D effect previously possible only through films and foils. Color Change transforms colors as the package rotates; the degree of change depends on the amount of pigment used. Soft Touch, an over-varnish, creates a highly tactile and aesthetic effect. Spot Matte finish enables package designers to incorporate matte and gloss looks into a single package.
