Heat seal technology

Perfecseal (Philadelphia, PA) has introduced PerfecFlex(TM) CPT (Clean-Peel Transfer) heat sealant. This new polymeric material can be laminated to or extrusion-coated onto a variety of films.

The resulting structure becomes one side of a heat-sealed package for sterile medical devices, with uncoated DuPont Tyvek® as the other side. When the Tyvek is peeled away to open the package, some of the CPT material remains with the Tyvek. But the rest remains behind on the other structure and provides bright white visual evidence of seal integrity. The CPT technology accommodates a wide range of sealing temperatures, from 240°F to 300°F, without fiber pull-off or delamination of the uncoated Tyvek.
