Sonoco Alloyd, part of Sonoco Display and Packaging, a unit of global packaging company Sonoco, has developed an innovative new package that allows easy dispensing of product and convenient storage of unused portions. The patent-pending packaging design is the first of its kind to combine thermoformed technology with a sliding lid.
The DivvyPack dispensable packaging system allows careful, singular “divvying” of product for multi-count packages. The lid slides away without opening completely, making it easy to dispense a single product from a multi-product package.
Interlocking channels along the sides of the sliding lid and tray allow for easy, one-handed opening and reclosing of the package, with an audible snap when locking closed. The package combines easy-open technology with tamper evidence, reassuring customers that their product is protected.
The format is ideal for not only standard multiple-quantity packaging, but also special use cases like club store packaging and gift-with-purchase promotions. The flat lid, clear packaging, and customizable shape and size provide a variety of marketing options.
