Graham Packaging: PET barrier bottles

Graham Packaging Co. now supplies single-serve PET Monosorb™ barrier bottles for fruit juices and other oxygen-sensitive drinks. Bottles are made from a resin blended with a modified formulation of BP’s Amosorb® DFC additive.

Unlike other barrier technologies that involve adding a coating or creating multiple layers, the barrier in the Monosorb bottle is achieved by blending Amosorb into the PET resin immediately prior to molding using Graham’s proprietary process. The barrier level can be metered by percentage to customize protection on an as-needed basis.
