Expac Corp.: Venting closure

The Pearce vented closure technology from Expac Corp. (Montvale, NJ) is said to eliminate problems associated with package collapse (paneling) due to hot filling, package blowout, or product leakage caused by the buildup of internal gas pressure.

Design does not depend on specific liner materials or configurations. Unique venting channels are said to allow internal pressures, both positive and negative, to be relieved. Technology can be incorporated into closures, orifice reducers, and sleeved inserts. Also recommended to accommodate the expansion caused by fermenting food products.
