Retortable plastic trays for new pet food

Forthglade Foods of Devon, England, has launched a new range of cat and dog food products in new packaging.

EDV Packaging was chosen as the supplier of the trays used for the new range of 125-g high-meat-content cat and dog food. EDV coextrudes and thermoforms the white PP/EVOH/PP material in Llinars del Valles, Barcelona, Spain. The material ensures the integrity of the tray during the demanding retort process and provides a barrier to oxygen, moisture, and aroma. Shelf life is 12 months at room temperature.
