Vac Pac, Inc: Steam-ready packaging

Designed for foods that lend themselves to steam cooking like fresh vegetables, fish and seafood, and ready meals or "Home Meal Replacements" (HMR's), SteamPak Plus from Vac Pac, Inc. uses a patented "micro porous" technology for venting steam from the package to deliver food with natural flavor, texture, and nutritional profiles.

This "micro porous" technology results in more evenly cooked foods in typically shorter cooking times versus traditional cooking methods and competitive steam film technologies, according to the company.

SteamPak Plus comes in both barrier and non-barrier high OTR film versions, allowing for a range of package conditions including fresh MAP, fresh produce, and frozen applications. In the case of the non-barrier film used for fresh produce, the micro porus steam venting strip is “breathable," allowing for the high OTR many fresh vegetables require (18.5-21%) to ensure optimal shelf life.

SteamPak Plus is available as printed or plain lidding film, or as stand up pouches.   Will run on form/fill/seal equipment, tray lidding machines, and L bar sealers. Can be printed.
