ExxonMobil Chemical Company: Extrusion coating resin

ExxonMobil Chemical (Houston, TX) has developed Exxco™, a linear, cost-effective polymer with plastomer-like performance. Resin has a 0.912 g/cc density and 12 g/10 min melt index.

Developed primarily for paper and paperboard extrusion-coating applications. Its low seal initiation temperature (90?C), broad sealing window, and strong seal strength allows it to outperform conventional resins. Also provides tear-strength and puncture-resistance properties that are said to be better than those of LDPE. Can also be used as a lamination film, between layers of OPP film.
