Bayer Corp.: Cook-in film

Ham and poultry products can be packaged and cooked in Combitherm® cook-in film. Made by Bayer Corp. (Pittsburgh, PA), this transparent, coextruded, nylon-based film comes in various gauges and has high gloss, an improved oxygen barrier and tight seals.

Uncooked ham or poultry can be placed into a cavity on a thermoforming machine, sealed in the multi-layer Combitherm film and cooked right in the film packaging, which shrinks and clings to the meat.
