Less is more for moisturizer package

Paducah, KY-based Charles Kari took a minimalist approach for its line of over thirty skin-care products, sold in tanning salons nationwide. Simple graphics, provided by Bill Henderson & Associates (Nashville, TN), are gravure-printed in four colors plus gold-foil stamping onto pressure-sensitive polyethylene film, from an undisclosed supplier.

A matte varnish is applied in vertical lines, creating a subtle pinstripe. Oblong HDPE bottles for the 8- and 12- oz products are supplied by W. Braun (Chicago, IL) and feature concave panels for a secure grip. A black polypropylene Disc-Top® dispenser is supplied by Seaquist Closures (Mukwonago, WI). Introduced last year, Charles Kari products retail from $15 to $30.
